LIPPY Butter London review

Butter London, the amazing company best known for it's nail polishes, also has this line of liquid lip colors. I have had this for a few weeks now and I have been wearing it most of the time. I just put this on my lips, some bb cream and a little winged liner on my eyes and I am good to go. Click here if you wanna check out the product on the butter London site. I thought I would through on a little review for you guys.

The shade I have is "AlCopop" which is this really barbie like bright pink. here is the swatch on my lips.
even though it's not in the sunshine or anything, this is the actual shade.

Pros:
Lippy is  highly pigmented, the color payoff is amazing as you can see. Let's talk about the shade, I have always wanted a pink "out of my comfort zone" lip color and this one is the best one I have. You put it one and it's summer time, the sort of half glossy half matte finish is really nice. I call this the sweet tooth lip color, because it can go through anything. I eat, drink and kiss people and it's still on, I even brush my teeth with it and it's still on. It stays on for I would say 4-5 hours and even when it's gone, with this shade I still have this pink hue to my lips that looks very natural.
 Cons:
It can be a little bit heavy on the lips if it's really cold, it kind of seeps between the cracks of the lips.

Tips:
1) There is no Ugly to this baby, but I feel like it needs a couple of you know tips so it would look great. I always apply lip balm before any gloss or stick, and for Lippy it's a must because as I said before it can be a little bit awkward on dry lips.
2) I found online that some people who tried this shade didn't really love it, I think it's because that they apply too much. Try to apply a very light amount of Lippy AlCopop on your lips and it will be very pigmented and nice, a big amount ends up looking fake and just bad.

I would totally recommend Lippy from Butter London. xx

Oriflame eyelash curler review

I have been obsessed with curling my lashes for quite a while now, click here to read about lash curlers. I found the Oriflame eyelash curler for 15 EGP after my consultant discount, this insane bargain made me buy it right away. It’s regular metallic mechanical lash curler, nothing crazy or heated. I started curling my lashes regularly since then, here is my review over this curler.
Here is an eye swatch before and after curling my lashes. PS: I don’t even have any mascara on

The Good:
You've seen the swatch, it’s like you have natural mascara on. Curling the lashes very easy and quick. I have had people telling me that lash curlers will hurt my lids or they will make my lashes fall, not one of these things were true with my Oriflame eyelash curler. It’s very easy to carry around.

The Bad:
When I first got it had it had 2 purple rubber pieces covering the handle, as you can see now they are gone. I don’t really care about the rubber handles that much, however they did fall out unexpectedly. Well this one is more of an advice, it catches mascara bits and pieces and line them, and so if you don’t clean it regularly you will get smudges all over your eyes. You need mascara to hold the curl, because the curl doesn't hold itself for too long; however I guess this is the way most curlers are.

The Ugly:
The top metal part actually got detached from it's place, leaveing the curling end tilted. I have to put it back into its place every time I curl my lashes.

I wouldn't recommend buying it, if you like to keep an eyelash curler in your purse. It's very cheap so it can be a good affordable tool on your vanity.

Nivea deodorant Vs Bourjois deodorant

Deodorant is very important! If you know me at all, you know that I am obsessed with anything that smells good; a candle, a fragrance, shampoo, anything really. First and for most is me, I want to smell good even if I am not wearing any fragrance. In the quest of the perfect deodorant I have narrowed down my experience so far to two deodorants, Nivea antiperspirant 48 hours deodorant and Bourjois Paris antiperspirant 48 hours deodorant.
They kind of both promise follow the same concept, even the wording on the bottles as you can see are very similar.
Fragrance
The Magnolia blossom scent in Bourjois gives this kind of perfume like scent that gives a really nice breathe as soon as you put it on. It does seem kind of heavy when you smell the bottle, however on the clothes it doesn't smell heavy at all. On the other hand Nivea has a powdery fresh scent that is not perfume like at all, it just smells clean. Depends on my mood I would alter between liking both, currently I am more into the feel good and clean smell of Nivea more than the Bourjois perfumery scent. It's a Tay.
Staying Power
You can't really smell the Bourjois fragrance on you 30 minutes after spraying, however it doesn't allow you to smell bad. I never see yellow stains or white marks on my clothes after using both. Nivea stays for a while, especially if you spray it on a top and then wear a jacket over; when you take off your jacket you get to smell the fresh clean garden you are. So I give points to Nivea on this one.
Price
I got this Bourjois Paris one @ 30 EGP and I got this Nivea one between 18 EGP 20 EGP. The difference doesn't really matter, however it's still a point to Nivea.
Packaging
I like both packaging, but let's break it down a little bit. The Bourjois Paris one with it's golden ball and the mannequin detail on the bottom of the bottle makes it look a little but more expensive. I think that the purple look awesome cause it's one of my favorite colors. Marketing wise, the Nivea packaging delivers the message easily ... however I am not speaking as a marketer I am speaking as a girl. Nivea isn't seen as an expensive brand, but this minimalist look isn't making it look cheap at all. So this is kind of a TAY.
Amount
The Bourjois one gives you 200 ml and Nivea gives you 150 ml. To normal people it looks like it's a point to Bourjois, but having a twisted little mind like mine I calculated it. If I pay 30 EGP for 200 ml, then 1 ml = 15 PT and I pay 20 EGP for 150 ml, then 1 ml =13 PT which is still cheaper. I am not going to give points on this.

For me the Nivea one wins, I would recommend the Bourjois one as well to anybody who is into the perfumey deodorant.

Garnier BB cream for oily skin

I got this a couple of months ago in my New Year's Haul. I got this after I heard it's a new release after the regular one failed miserably. It's made in France, the packaging is totally different than the original one. This one is longer and thinner. It says very clearly on the packaging for "combination to oily skin", also there is the statement "miracle skin perfector". Mine is in the shade "Medium", I believe there is another shades named "Light".I have been applying this for my everyday makeup instead of foundation and I have quite a lot to say about it.

The Good:

As soon as you buff it on your skin or even finger spread it, this BB cream has a velvety finish on the skin. It's very light weight and smooth. As you can see in the before and after picture, It gives this healthy natural glow to the skin. In the picture as well, it shows that it has medium to light coverage. I think the coverage on this is great for a BB cream. When I apply a matte primer underneath, I don't get oily and I get pretty long stay with it. It stays on for a pretty long time, I would wear it at 8 am and it stays on till 8 pm. The shade goes great with my skin, as you can see blended on my wrist; it looks kind of the same. All in all it makes you look like you have enhanced your skin. Finally this product is @ 44 EGP which is very affordable.

The Bad:
As you can see in the swatch, this BB cream has a very runny consistency. I am not used to this kind of consistency and it's a little hard to deal with. The packaging is upside down and the product itself is very liquidy which causes a lot of waste to the product. If I wear it and have to make a phone call right away, it would leave a mark on my phone.

The Ugly:
Let me just make it clear, I don't expect my BB cream to make my skin better or anything. There was a promise -which I didn't believe- on the packaging that with use it makes skin better, and it didn't. So the product promised something and didn't fulfill it. If you apply this BB cream with no primer underneath, you will start getting oily in the T zone after 3-4 hours.

For me I am still not sure if I am going to repurchase it or not, however I would recommend it for someone with drier skin. I have normal cheeks and oily T zone, so you can call me kind of combination. I would still recommend a BB cream for everyday use instead of foundation. xx

Victoria's Secret Dazzleshine Lip gloss review

WELCOME TO MY 100th  POST!! WoHooooo!!
Who doesn’t love lip gloss? Who doesn’t love Victoria’s Secret? The beauty rush collection from Victoria’s Secret has two kinds of lip glosses, the regular edition and the DAZZLESHINE edition. It’s this soft shimmery lip gloss in a hard plastic packaging with sponge applicator. I got the flavor or color “Dazzling Berry”, here is my review
First, here is a little swatch of the lip gloss on my lips. PS It’s on my bare lips with no lipstick or lip liner

The Good:

It smells like berry heaven, and it has a sugary yummy taste as well. I always feel like I want to eat it. The color is this sheer rose with shimmer in it, glides nicely on the lips when applied. The shimmer in it is not overwhelming or flaky at all. The packaging looks slim and very unique, it’s thin and practical as it goes in my wallet. You can count on finding this lip gloss in my wallet, as it’s the only one that fits in there without looking bulky.

The Bad:
I hate spongy applicators; whether it’s eye shadow or lip gloss, I think that spongy applicators look very cheap and don’t get enough product on. I wish it had the applicator with brush bristles. The lip gloss itself is a little bit sticky which sometimes makes it a little bit heavy on the lips.
The Ugly:
I don’t find any ugly side like absolutely unbearable side, Nahhh.

I think it’s a great emergency lip gloss, because of the unique slim packaging. I would totally recommended if you are into shimmer.

Revlon Color Stay 16 hours eye shadow quad Review

Today I am reviewing the Revlon Color Stay 16 hours eye shadow quad.  Revlon has several versions, I have this one which is 520 brazen. This is how it looked like when I first got it. The picture is not mine of course because mine is all used up. This was one of the products in the starter makeup kit. I have had this a while and I thought I would give you a little review of is it all about. It has 4 shimmery colors in these squares, and this little sponge eye applicator. It's @ 130 EGP.

Here are the swatches for 3 of the colors, the 4th color unfortunately is no longer with us. It was a dark brown color.

The Good:
These colors have divine Pigmentation, really strong. Look at the swatches, I just touched the shadows and BAM instant strong color. The variety of colors is great to create many looks on its own or with the assistance of external eye shadows. This quad has colors than can take a look from day to night very easily.  I also discovered that applying these shadows with damp brush make the colors pop even more and stay on.  The shadows are very soft, I haven’t had any fall outs with them. Never have I ever had these shadows on and went home with them fading, I am not sure about 16 hours but I can grantee at 10 hours. There is this little guide to where to put the shades on the back of the package, which is great for beginners and it creates a really pretty look.

The Bad:
As you can see I have lost two shadows of the quad in a year, which means that it’s not the best when it comes to hectic traveling. Personally I buy these small quads to keep in my hand bag for work or traveling and this one failed in standing that test.

The Ugly:
The Pan itself that holds the shadows suddenly got detached from the packaging itself, which eventually caused me losing two shades. When I looked up the pan I have found that it wasn’t installed strong enough. Now I have a little fantastic quad that is travel sensitive as you can see.

For me the product quality is too good for this packaging. If I was Revlon I would change the packaging.
It’s not a repurchase for me, because I like my little quad to be travel friendly.
I would recommend it for anybody who is starting with makeup, or someone who is really careful with their makeup, or someone who doesn't move their makeup out of their vanity a lot.

Ciaté Colorfoil Nail kit review

I got the beautiful creative Colorfoil nail kit from Ciate, Click here to read all about the collection. I have been experimenting with it for quite a while now, different patterns and base coats. I have also made a little usage guide right here. I am not that much of a nail person, however I have to say this kit is so much fun. This is one of the looks that I have made using the base coat “Pepperminty” that came with the kit and the Golden foil sheet, the look is inspired by Dulce & Gabanna S/S 2014. I decided to have a little review on it.

The Good:
It’s very creative and versatile, you can have everything on your nails from runway chic to 70’s disco crazy. The quality of the nail polish and the kit from Ciate is unquestionable. I love that you can use any base coat, makes it much more interesting with different colors underneath.

The Bad:
I thought that the nail wheel are fake nails to apply over your nails, little that I know they are not. They are just some gorgeous plastic nails of the same size that are actually useless. That was kind of a disappointment.

The Ugly:
If you forget to apply the clear nail polish, the glue will collect all the dust in the world on your nails. Without clear nail polish, your nails will look horrible within 2-3 hours. You need to reapply your clear nail polish everyday if you want your nail art to stay more than one day, which is not practical at all.

It is a fun one time purchase, to jazz up any dull outfit you have. If you are big on nails person or not, you will enjoy it. It does require some maintenance though.

Lord & Berry smudge proof eyeliner pencil review

A friend of mine told me about Lord & Berry and asked me to apply from her eyeliner to test it. I purchased  it right away and ever since I have been using it. Here in Egypt we are known for our obsession with eyeliner, the Arabic "Kohl" tradition never went away. Almost everybody I know lines their water line and it's usually in black, other colors are also shining whether under the lash line or the classic wing. I think this review is for everybody looking for eyeliner pencil. This is how it looked when I first got, and of course the picture is not mine. The price is 90 EGP.

Here is a swatch of the liner before and after washing my wrest

The Good:
I have this pencil in the shade 701 "In The Black", which is a dark matte black color. The pigmentation is smacking on this baby, you only need to pass it by your lash line or your water line once to get an intense black line. It goes on very smooth on the eye, as it has a very creamy consistency. As soon as it dries -takes about 30 seconds- you won't have any smudging or melting. It doesn't smudge at all, hence the name. It stays for a long time,  it honestly stays all night. As you can see you have to wipe it with a makeup remover because this baby stands the test of water.
The Bad:
In Egypt, Lord & Berry is not easily found. I personally head to Sephora Toi or La Beaute -both in mohandseen- to find them. Honestly it's worth the search. here is just a picture of my pencil, obviously I need to buy a new one.
The Ugly:
It doesn't have an ugly side :)

This could be the best eyeliner pencil ever. Paying 90 EGP for one pencil might sound a little bit too much, however it stays for a long time. This baby has been a repurchase for me for the last year and a half, I totally love it.
