Madonna chose Zendaya as the new Material Girl


Madonna and her daughter Lourdes have their own clothing line "Material Girl". The debut of the 2014 fall collection has a cover girl who everyone has been talking about. 17 year old Zendaya is Model turned dancer turned singer turned actress and who is taking Hollywood by storm after she has been set to Play Alaya's new biography movie. "Zendaya exudes a confident, free spirit. We love having her as the new Material Girl" Said Madonna. "I love how Zendaya makes her own style rule to fit her personality, that's what Material Girl is all about" Said Lourdes, Madonna's daughter. The collection is perfect balance between edgy and feminine pieces and will be sold exclusively at Macy's. We already love the shoot and how gorgeous the new Material Girl is looking, check out these photos.

Revoln Amazing spider man limited edition collection

I am a fan of the Super Hero idea. Someone with great physical strength -and appeal if I may add- who has this great amount of moral strength is something very interesting to me. Spider Man new hot couple are Emma Stone & Andrew Garfield, releasing a new sequel "Amazing Spider Man 2". I know by now you think that I am going to channel my inner comic book girl and ignore the fun beauty stuff. Revlon decided to go with the spider man flow and release a totally unique limited edition collection.
The limited edition collection collection has 6 nail polishes and 3 lip glosses. The colorful collection is inspired by the super hero Spider Man of course, the collection named "Electric Flow".
The Packaging is just RAD! It's a total collective item with all these spidery nets around it!
I am loving the Raspberry Gloss Named Killer Watte and Shimmery Blue Named I'm Electro. I think it's interesting that Revlon is picking up a bold move like this and releasing a Blue lip gloss, I hear it's more of a sheer tint not real blue. I think it's a great step never the less.

The Olsen Twins release dual perfumes

Fashion designers, business women and empire owners, the 27 years old ladies are young stylish millionaires. Both of the ladies have a very distinctive style that manages to put them on the best dressed lists every where. With signature blond loose waves and daring outfits, they take bohemian rich chic to the next level. They decided to launch a new perfume through their Elizabeth & James fashion line. Everything comes in two with these ladies, the Dual perfumes named Nirvana.
Just a couple of days ago, the Olsen twines hosted the launch event for their dual perfumes Nirvana. After two years of "a labor of love" according Ashley, Nirvana comes to life. The official release to the market will take place in January 2014, excursively in Sephora. It's confirmed that the US and Canada will be the first countries to have these new perfumes, however it's not confirmed that the perfumes will cross more borders.
The bottles look identical with different colors. Inspired by the names Nirvana white and Nirvana black, each perfume is colored with it's name. The vintage style is not new to the ladies. Mary-Kate & Ashley designed the bottles themselves, their main inspiration was vintage golden mirrors.
So far there is no official advertisement with both the twins and the perfumes together, the only thing we have is this picture of them pictured with the perfumes in the launch event. The preliminary ad I would say is this minimalist ad with simply the two bottles standing beside each others.
Nirvana black is edgy and dark, while Nirvana white is sweet and light. Vanilla notes mixed with sandalwood  and violet is what makes Nirvana black woody. Nirvana white has a strong musk notes mixed with mugeut and peony for a floral scent. The 50 ml will be @ 75$, the 30 ml will be @ 55$ and the rollers will be @ 22$.
The twins say that they felt that Elizabeth & James will be perfect to launch their perfume, according to them it's not just a brand, it's a life style. On the topic of exclusively to Sephora, Ashley said " Elizabeth & James and Sephora together speak directly to out customer". As always a great business move and a stylish design. Whoever wants to smell like the Olsen ladies, will just have to wait 2 months in order to get their hands on Nirvana black & Nirvana white.

MIA designs for Versace

All I wanna do is (BANG BANG BANG *GUNSHOTS*) + (KKKKKKA CHING!) And take your money! That's the first thing I remember whenever I hear the word MIA. The Sri-Lankan British Rapper has grown her own popularity among the streets, that's where Donatella comes.The Versace vice president and chief designer decided that MIA should be the new designer of a a capsule collection for Versus Versace.
 The Versus Versace is an inner line for Versace, initially created by Gianni Versace for Donatella. Prior to his death Gianna decided that his sister Donatella shall have her own inner line.
This is not a new step for Versace though, last May, J.W.Anderson released a collection inspired by the 90's for the label. Having an edgy runway with all the fresh ideas and luxury became the way for Versace after the departure of former creative director Christopher Kane. It's decided that the label will dedicate a capsule collection each season to show case new talents in the world of Film, Fashion and Music. That was shown also in a small collaboration with K-way. A smart move I would say, they would gain a lot of young audience. Versace is all about being bold
and over the top, this time they wanted to go to the streets. MIA's new capsule collection allegedly to be consisting of 19 pieces for men and women. The inspiration to the collection is a mix of the real people *according to Versace*, taking it back to the street style.
Junk Jewelry, logo overload and Sports clothing. Donatella says that's it's fast, loud, bold and brings music and fashion together. The bootleg have always been in Versace designs according to -Now designer- MIA. The cheap expensive look is what they went for, what would these kids on the streets -who can't afford high end- wear if they have tons of cash to spare. I am loving the fact that there are lots of denim and jersey wear. The logo is amazing, especially that it has the word MIA all over it. I am not a fan of the fact that it's all green circles, kind of reminded me of Starbucks. I think that the collection doesn't represent Versace as much as it represents the Rapper. I am not sure if that's what Donatella asked for or MIA just didn't pay enough respect for the Versace style.
The ads are going viral and it does sound like fun putting Donatella and MIA together. The good news is that the collection does have its own link on the Versus Versace website ... you can visit it Here. The release will be on October 16th, so basically the count down just started. Just like everything else on the website it can be shopped online. For whoever can afford it, suit yourself.

Elie Saab for Evian Water

"I'll just have some water" have been moved to a totally new different level by Evian. It's not the first time to hear something quite similar to this piece of news. Evian has a long history of collaborating with A-list fashion designers to design its bottles. Names include Jean Paul Gaultier, Dian Von Furstenberg and Paul Smith have designed previous limited edition bottles for the company. This usual step for Evian is a part of branding the water as fashion water, it's the number one plate for fashion models if you know what I mean. I need to drop the mean act and focus on the Arab Pride, Elie Saab is the first Arabic designer to do the limited edition thing.

After taking Hollywood by storm and introducing romantic couture with his fairy tale gowns, he's taking over french waters. Elie Saab started to shine with Halle berry in her infamous Oscar Gown in 2001, opening the door for Lebanese designers to be considered on the red carpet. His latest collaboration with Evian has got the talk of the city, turning water to a luxury item. The new limited edition bottle will hit the restaurants in 3 sizes starting November. The design as stated by the brand official Facebook page is inspired by the Evian Mountains. For me it was more inspired by his own obsession with lace. Being known for it's clarity and purity, Evian branding isn't easy to mix with not so minimal Saab's style. Saab has announced that the brand main concern for inspiration was to reflect purity, however he did need to put his own signature on the bottle. His appreciation for the brand got him to do a completely transparent bottle with his own touch of lace. It's said that it took Elie more than 25 sketches to reach his final decision on the new limited edition bottle design.  

The lace pattern designed on the bottle wasn't inspired by a real life fabric, however it was made from scratch by Elie himself. Saab had some limitations designing the bottle as he only had to go around with patterns and not the logo. He did find a graceful way to relate it to him, other than his name obliviously on the bottle. If you have been up to date with the Paris Fashion Week runway, you would know that his latest Spring / Summer 2014 collection was inspired by Lace. Naming the collection "Lace Garden", his lace inspiration for the bottle just goes along the gowns. Here is the freshly released ad for the new bottle.

Good news is ... It's hitting the high end stores in Egypt as soon as it's released. The price confirmed from the brand will 26 EGP. It's not your average 3 EGP water bottle, however I think of it as a collective item. I will be getting myself one or two and putting it to other uses after drinking them. I am not the type of girl who would pay that much for water, however I will because it's something I can pass on to my future daughter as vintage limited edition. After all, you don't get a water bottle designed by a luxury fashion designer every day.

Fashion weeks S/S 2014

Every year there is a bi-annual event named fashion week that takes place in September and February. So many different cities with different designers, in September spring and summer trends are showcased while in February fall and winter trends are showcased. The most important fashion weeks are New York, Paris, London and Milan. The first ever fashion week was in the early 40's in New York, it was called Press Week back then. The first raws in these runways are always packed with celebrities in cinema, music, TV, fashion and sometimes even politics. The street style of attendees have witnessed quite a celebration since social medias that has special interest in fashion such as instgram, polyvore and pintreset. Designers are always showing their collections and getting the inspiration going on for lower end retail labels.

Marc Jacobs’s beauty

Anything I read or hear about my super celebrity crush aka Marc Jacobs leaves me in a dreamy state of mind. I love this man and all of his creations, I am obsessed. After acing clothing, accessories and perfumes, he’s going into makeup. So the style god decided to expand his international –soon to be empire- and try his luck in beauty. Beauty and Marc Jacobs are two words that had to be mentioned in one sentences and sold.  This is a scoop on the new beauty line.


MARC JACOBS @ Sephora

On August 9th 2013 Sephora was shining with a very special corner for the new Marc Jacobs beauty collection. The first collection has 122 pieces including all the essential makeup and colors. It’s named very conveniently LUST. The price range is between 28$ - 78$ and on the Sephora website apparently it’s selling out!  It’s currently available in all the Sephora stores in the US.

And on the same day, a whole dedicated store was opened for the beauty line in New York. The shop is designed to look like a fine jewelry box with glazing glass, chandeliers, minimal furniture and beauty counters made of elegant black granite. The store has some Marc Jacobs accessories as well. The LUST collection is available in all the Marc Jacobs stores as well.

The campaign for the collection is modeled by 23 years old British model Edie Campbell.  The shoot focused on bold looks that can be practical and Edie’s super model features helped a lot. Pictures from the shoot are all over the makeup counters in the store which in my opinion gives an exclusive feeling to it all.

The names of the items on the collection are quite unique; supposedly they’re supposed to reflect its effect. There is Genius gel super-charged foundation, Lash lifter gel volume mascara, Magic Marc’er precision pen, Lip lock moisture balm, Shameless bold blush, Style Eye-con plush shadow, Hi-shine lacquer nail polish Perfection powder feather weight foundation, Remedy concealer pen, The face II sculpting foundation brush and Lust for lacquer lip vinyl.




 
The beauty collection isn’t available yet outside the US, however Robert Duffy CEO of Marc Jacobs Intl. said that he is expecting a beauty expansion. Maybe we can see other beauty stores soon all over the US and outside.

Miss Vogue Launch



In a new initiative for young fashion,
Vogue has done it again. Vogue UK is launching it's first ever magazine that will be targeted at a younger audience. Something like Teen Vogue US, however for a much wider age spectrum and with much more sophistication. The point of the magazine is to have more hip content, more daring editorials and much more budget aware items, as they know that younger audiences are still at the beginning of their careers and don't have the luxury to spend as much as an older audience. For Vogue UK that's a very smart move, as ELLE has earlier released a magazine named ELLE Girl, that left quite the positive indication on the audience, however the it closed down. In a way or another the magazine has an already tested audience. Alexandra Shulman -Vogue UK Editor- said "We know how much they love the magazine, and so I wanted to produce something that would have bespoke content for a younger audience". The first issue hit stands in the UK today May 6th 2013 with the regular issue in the same package with no extra fees. Miss vogue first issue is some how smaller than any other Vogue, only 124 pages. Guess Who's the cover girl of the first issue? or as they call her who's the first Miss Vogue? Non other than UK sweet heart and Super Model Cara Delevingne. The cover is lively and says YOUNG without speaking, Cara in with her long blond locks and thick signature eyebrows looking amazing in pink outfit and a grey crop top, bright lips and lots of knuckle rings. The cover itself reveals what's happening inside, all trendy, young and hot things.
The odd thing is, I got last March issue of Vogue UK and Cara was the cover girl, I think that's a quite risky move from Vogue to do that, what message are we sending here "We are not creative" or "There is no difference between the 2 magazines, we just want to make more money" or "We couldn't afford it, so we paid for one model to do two covers" .. I hope there a different message. It's important to mention the fire Liz Jones, The daily mail UK opened on Miss Vogue. Liz  is angry, the editor of Vogue is the same editor of Miss Vogue and she's in her 50's ... her approach is basically, when you're 50, how can you write for teens. I sort of agree with Liz on this, now that the world is open for us young ladies, all of these blogs and youtube vloggers, we're not easy to please crowd and Vogue advertisers better realize that before placing channel ads and D&G outfits in the editorial the team needs to remember that the budget awareness doesn't mean 50 $ less, more like 1000 $ less. I haven't read the magazine yet, so I can't really judge it; however these are pieces of the editorial and the cover, I hope I get my hands on it soon and for these lucky ladies in the UK currently, run and get your Vogue package starting today to see and judge for yourself.

Beyonce Vs Beyonce with Pepsi ....

You all know that Pespi isn't my favorite thing in the whole world, however as a Marketer you have to respect their constant extravaganza. Pepsi Always have the most famous, sexiest and loudest hot celebrities on their ad. Locally it was Amr Diab and Elissa; internationally it was everybody who's anybody. The queen of fabulous, Mrs Z all grown up Beyonce has been doing Ads for Pepsi since forever, having grown up on destiny child's music then teen years with Beyonce solo career, the ad gave me the right fix of happy memories tears and just that Va va vom of being a grown woman now.
Beyonce has partnered up with Pespi in late December of last year. The Pespi ad is just a snip of her new music video, which is called mirrors. In the ad you see her dancing alone in a mirrors room, then she stops for a Pespi break, as soon as looks back in the mirror .. she finds herself looking at her past self. The first past self she meets in the mirror is her in Bootylicious ... the same hot pink suit with the beads, the sexy hair and attitude ...so what does Beyonce do when she meets her old self .. they have a dance off. There are only 3 past Beyonce in the ad ... Bootylicious, Crazy in love and Single ladies.Have a look at the ad yourself, you will fall in love with every second of it. The ad was released yesterday; which happens to be her 5 year anniversary of marriage with Jay Z. as for me now I am expecting to see everything in the new Video; now I am dying to see it ... I wanna see her in Baby boy, naughty girl, pink panther and even dream girls. The slogan is amazing "Embrace your past, but live for NOW" and what's more amazing is ... that the queen of confidence herself is saying it....
The music is hip and has a lot of soul to it, it got me dancing in a second ...

H&M & other stories S/S'13

H&M decided to go up a notch and start with other stories. The odd name of the brand is at the very first line of some surprises from the same kind. "& other stories" is the more expensive, and more sophisticated version of H&M. It just debuted in London; from the experience on the website, I can honestly say it's promising. The difference they pushed the boundaries,it's like minimalism heaven in there, everybody is going back to the 90's and everybody is looking at minimalism in a new perspective, & other stories are introducing minimalism with a fresh eye. the price ranges for dresses would be from 40 euros to 120 euros. An interesting fact that the apparel line is named "Ready to wear" so are they thinking nest step couture? maybe that will let Helen Hunt shop for all the award shows from there *eye roll*.
The idea itself is very economical; eat an extra share in the market before somebody else eats it.  H&M supposedly is looking to take a place in the ladies wardrobe stables, if fashionistas are going invest in the classic timeless pieces; then why not that money goes in our pockets as well. So what do we expect from "& Other Stories"? This teaser pretty much says it all about the brand.We expect chic sophisticated style, minimalism at it's best -at least in that price range anyway-, Luxury in the form of H&M isn't high end, however it still looks expensive. A tip, you can get free samples of the brand's beauty line from the website. One thing that might catch your attention, is that "& other stories" is a ladies only brand, I would love to see this kind of designs for men anytime soon. Some criticized the idea of launching the brand in London and not in NewYork, they were wondering if the US is not good enough for H&M new depute; however I think that the company is a European company, it wouldn't make since if forever 21 launched a new brand in Berlin for example cause it's American. There is no news about any expanding in the middle-east, I say we give them sometime to test the concept.  Now that we are all happy about this new venture, here is how we can stalk the brand:
