I wasn't into makeup until I got to like my 3rd year of college and that was like in 2011. The crazy thing is when you're a beginner you're confused about what to buy and what not to buy. Most of the makeup beginners out there are young and therefore on a budget. I know that you are always worried that if you get something that seems cheap, it will end up looking horrible or giving you breakouts. Here is all what you need to have a good base starter kit on budget. Please note that I provide 3 products with their prices for each item, each product has a different price than the other; just so we can cover all budgets. Face:

Foundation
Foundation is mainly to even out your skin tone, make your face one color also to set some kind of base for your makeup. Measure your shade to your neck and above your chest, because you want all of that area to look the same shade. People rave about tinted moisturizes and BB creams, I promise the foundation is the best for full coverage.

Concealer
Concealers needs to lighter than your foundation. Using concealer you can cover up any darkness under your eyes and any blemishes like acne scars or unwanted beauty marks -like me-. Even if you don't have dark eyes, brightening under your eyes will enhance your eyeshadow.

Blush
As a beginner, you don't need to go with any crazy color when it comes to blush. After you set your foundation and concealer you will need to bring out your cheeks with a pink hue. Try to get a matte blush, you will probably only get one blush and you need to use it all day long; so shimmery ones aren't a good option.

Bronzer
It's a little bit funny, however that's how a bronzer is applied also on the sides of your nose. Mainly you get bronzer to define your face. Bronzer totally needs to be darker than your foundation. Having shimmer in your bronzer is no problem, it's actually kind of necessary. The bronze color with the shimmer gives a sun kissed glow that makes your face like you have a tan. Avoid buying something too dark or you might look like you have coffee on your face.

Face Brush

I am going to have a whole post about the must have brushes. To be honest as a beginner -from zero to hero levell- the whole brushes thing is gonna be sort of a delimma. One face brush for brush and bronzer is such an easy way to start with the whole brushes idea.

Eyes:

Mascara

Buy a black mascara and non other, it will make your eyes look bigger and will go with all makeup looks.

Eyeliner
The best color to get as basic is black, sure blues and greens are fun; however the black color is classic for eyeliner. Don't go for the cream eyeliner in the little pots and then buy an eyeliner brush, because this will require more experience and skill; also it means that you need to buy eyeliner brush and that's one additional product. Get the pen that is an applicator in the same time and don't buy one with glitter.

Eye pencil
You know the regular kohl that you probably have tried before, yes that's a form of eye pencil. The crazy I didn't know as a beginner that there are types and colors of the so called eye pencil A.K.A Kohl. Eye pencils are used like in the picture to liner the upper and lower lines of your eye. We always have had a thing for black as Egyptians and Arabs, maybe because we have big eyes. If you have smaller eyes and you really want to make them look bigger, buy yourself an eye pencil in white. Also while shapening your pencil, try not to make pencil tip so sharp so you won't injuire yourself.

Eyeshadow

There is endless variety of colors and types of eyeshadows. When you're buying eyeshadow, don't go for the single ones because that's a waste of space and time. You always need something that has a bit of shimmer in white or light nude to the brow bone and tear duct. Your eyelid and crease need brighter and darker colors, so the eyeshadow collective pallets are life savers. Go for basic earthy tones with nudes, pinks and browns, if you are in for a bit of adventure go for something with blue. Shimmer or matte, it depends on you.

Eye brush

I just hate these little applicators that comes with all the eyeshadows, I think companies waste their money on them. My mom used to put eyeshadow with her fingers and I grew up thinking that's right, however it's wrong. eyeshadow brush is best to apply and blend.

Lips:

Lip gloss
It adds extra boost and shine to your lips. There different types of applicators, buy whatever you are comfortable with; I personally buy it based on the texture and color not applicator. The best shades are the light pinks and nudes, maybe even transparent. Don't buy something with glitter, the gloss and the color are more than enough to add shine. Think about it, will shiny pieces of glitter scattered around your lips ever look good? thank you.

Lip stick
Personally I didn't like lipsticks at the beginning and now I put lip stick on far than regular basis. The red lipstick and the bold berry dark lips are sort of an advanced step for lipstickers. The pinks and nudes are best for basic. Matte lipstick is good cause you can smear some gloss on it and hello shine, however the shine effect can be good if lipsticks tend to crease on your lips.

Nails:

Nail polish

I know that french manicure and nail art seem too hard to resist, however you need to realise as a starter nail polish can be tricky. The basic color every girl can't live without is pink, it's not red because it tends to be more on the mature side. Always have one fun crazy color that express who you are. From black to yellow crazy colors are a huge spectrum where you can choose. Matte or shiny, the choice depends on your personal style.

Nail File
This is just a life saver. If you get any chips, you can cover up with filing. The metal -your mom's- file isn't the best option, instead the durable one or even better the glass one.
