10 Music Festivals Essentials 2014

So it's spring and you what does that mean, it's time for musical festivals. In Egypt we already started with a couple of jazz festivals with bands from Lebanon and Egypt. I know that in places like the US and Europe, the festivals stay for days. What I love about music festivals is how much everything is so chilled, everybody is having a good time and enjoying their time. I have summed up my top 10 favorite essentials for music festivals for style and beauty. I hope you can get some inspiration out of these for the next music festival you will attend.
Distressed Shorts
They are amazing and they are always in. Distressed denim shorts are breathy, they look cute and edgy and they are practical. You can choose any wash, length or waist style depending on your mood. For music festivals distressed denim shorts can be styled with anything and they will still look good, tank tops, band tees or even a bandeau. If you would like more cover up, you can try some distressed denim pants

Flower Crown

They are completely hippie and they give such a goddess look but effortless. Flower crowns can be worn on an edgy outfit to soften it or you can complete a feminine look with it and look like a hippie goddess. I love how you can wear a flower crown to keep your hair out of your face incase you are dancing and sweating and all, because you still look amazing.
Kimono
They are a great cover-up piece without making you melt. A flowy kimono style cover-up will be great on any top and shorts or top and pants, also they will look great on a dress or a skirt. Because kimonos are made from light fabrics, they don't take much of space in your bag in case you want to store it until night.
SPF
I never recommend caking up foundation and powder for music festivals. A natural look is best when it comes to makeup, especially that you will be there all day and probably sweating; also the bathrooms are torture if you want to fix your makeup. SPF is best for your makeup, so you would stay protected from the sun, I have mentioned lips and base because that's all what you really need to look natural and well put together.

Canvas
Canvas are the best of both worlds, they are practical and they look good. You can be stepped on and not have a bleeding situation, also you will be protected from any mud or shenanigans. Converse are the kings of canvas, you can have something girly like these floral ones from Zara. I actually own these pair from payless and they are so comfortable, make sure to wear socks so you won't have smelly feet.
Backpack
A tote bag or a satchel are always a distraction in music festivals, you are not mobile and you need something to hold your stuff. A cross body bag might be good, the ultimate solution is a backpack. It's a great choice to keep anything you have in and not even think about it, you can choose any fabric or print you want; personally I love plain ones.
Shades
Don't take your expensive shades to music festival, they will get smashed or you will forget them somewhere. A cheap pair of shades is a great way to accessorize and keep sun from blinding you. You will find amazing dupes for high end brands like these H&M ones looking exactly like the famous aviators from Ray Ban.
Interesting Nails
A French manicure isn't going to cut it in a music festival. Since your makeup is very natural, you can go rebellious on your nails. Don't wear fake nails and don't have 3D nail art, cause you won't look so good with one missing nail or half a flower on your nails.
Hippie Dress
A short dress might look nice in pictures, but trust me it's not practical for a music festival. A long hippie dress will elongate your shape, give you that feminine look and won't put you in risk of showing your underwear when you want to set on the ground. Ditch the strapless options, because you don't want to spend all your time worrying about a nip slip.
Stacked Jewelry
If the weather is sizzling hot, chance are you are not going to handle having jewelry on you. You can wear them anyway then take them away if you are feeling sticky and put them in your backpack. Friendship bracelets and ring sets are best for a hippie edgy look.

That's it, I hope you look extra stylish in your next music festival. xx

Introducing Style Profile

This is like a late introduction, I know ... however better late than never. This is not much of an introduction, it's more like an explanation. I am starting this new Category named Style Category. Basically I take a blog post and dedicate it to one person who I find very stylish. Sort of like a visual diary for people who are not me, comprehending their best outfits and styles. What I have learned so far from blogging and following like millions of blogs, is that the more the personal the blog post the more readers are connected to it. I want my readers to feel like they are living something personal and real ... not just another publishing.
I think that having other people who have different style than me, opens the door for people with different style interests to be involved in my blog. As much as I am always trying to not limit my style options and what I like basically, show casing different personalities is much more versatile. I want chic memoire to be like an encyclopedia for fashion, personal style and beauty. It's very interesting also because we can finally tab into undiscovered style areas like, Men's fashion and Hijab fashion. I have already created two Style Profiles and already I am outside my usual box. I started with Amna Abdelrahman, Click Here to see her style profile. Amna is amazingly stylish and she is a Hijabi girl and I am so happy to inspire girls how to wear Hijab in a different and stylish way. Second, I focused on Ahmed Hassan, Click Here to check out his style profile. The name already indicated how much outside my box we went. Finally, there is style inspiration for men on my blog and Ahmed's style is so cutting edge and unique.
The beauty of this, is that I see so many future plans and long term changes for this new category that it will become a main focus in Chic Memoire.

Style Profile: Ahmed Hassan

It's not common to see men taking fashion risks and succeeding, especially here in Egypt. Today's style profile is all about an Egyptian guy who takes risks and nails them, Ahmed Hassan. Ahmed is 23 years old associate editor in Identity Magazine. I think Ahmed's style is very interesting, he's not afraid to be himself or to take major style risks. I wanted to show case some of his outfits to inspire everybody out there who are looking for some bold style inspiration. Why is Ahmed so Unique? here is Why?

I would describe my style as...
Daring and personalized. My style reflects my personality and my mood. I always love customizing items and adding personal touches to my outfit (like turning a vintage button or even a necklace to an outfit accessory) I also enjoy playing around with different colors and patterns.  I believe style tells your life story in clothes. By looking at an outfit, you can tell a lot about a person.

My favorite Style Icons ...
There are so many! I guess my favorite would be Will.i.am (Singer & Producer), Prince Pelayo & Bryan Boy (Fashion Bloggers). They always experiment with their style and never follow a certain set of rules. I find their style very eclectic and inspirational!

My Style Inspiration...
Everyday life inspires me in so many ways. Observing everything around me really gives me great inspiration. Whether colour combinations in nature, someone’s outfit or even an amazing piece of clothing can spark inspiration for a whole outfit! However, I don’t really go looking for things to inspire my style. I just experiment with what I have and try to put together things whether they look silly, outrageous, eccentric or just plain and simple.
Polka Bold
Scarf: Zara
Shirt: Sisley
Shoes: H&M
Pants: Zara
My Signature Pieces ...
Sunglasses, scarves and boots! I can’t seem to get enough of any of them (Which empties my wallet on a regular basis). Most of what I own is usually over-the-top, quirky or edgy. Multi-print scarves, funky sunglasses and playful boots add so much to an outfit and can be worn forever!
Risky Business
Shades: Anthony Morato

Blazer: Zara

Vest: Zara
Scarf: Zara
I usually do my shopping ...
City Stars is my Mecca. It has every single thing I can think of! Downtown mall, Mall of Arabia, vintage shops at Downtown (the actual downtown) and online stores like GILT & ASOS. I get really excited when I find great items in the most unexpected places and so when I go shopping, I keep an open mind to be able to spot those “great finds”. I just recently found a 7 L.E. (YES!) retro sunglasses that I’m absolutely in love with!

During our style profile focus, Ahmed realized how much he shops @ Zara. For more of his Stylish life you can stalk him on Instagram Click Here

Revoln Amazing spider man limited edition collection

I am a fan of the Super Hero idea. Someone with great physical strength -and appeal if I may add- who has this great amount of moral strength is something very interesting to me. Spider Man new hot couple are Emma Stone & Andrew Garfield, releasing a new sequel "Amazing Spider Man 2". I know by now you think that I am going to channel my inner comic book girl and ignore the fun beauty stuff. Revlon decided to go with the spider man flow and release a totally unique limited edition collection.
The limited edition collection collection has 6 nail polishes and 3 lip glosses. The colorful collection is inspired by the super hero Spider Man of course, the collection named "Electric Flow".
The Packaging is just RAD! It's a total collective item with all these spidery nets around it!
I am loving the Raspberry Gloss Named Killer Watte and Shimmery Blue Named I'm Electro. I think it's interesting that Revlon is picking up a bold move like this and releasing a Blue lip gloss, I hear it's more of a sheer tint not real blue. I think it's a great step never the less.
Would you buy it?
