Style Profile: Yasmin Abdou

A Lady like style is always mentioned when vintage style is mentioned. Rarely do we find young ladies who take the real Lady look and modernize it in our days. Today's Style Profile is a true stylish lady, Yasmin Abdou. Yasmin is a 24 year old UN intern, she  is the petite modern version of a lady; somewhere between Faten Hamama and Audrey Hepburn. How do you think Yasmin pulls off that look? Here is how ..

Modern Grace Kelly
Dress: Zara
Jacket: Belgium
Shoes: Charles & Keith
Earrings: Belgium
Bag: Charles & Keith
A dress like this screams vintage lady; the blue lace and the cut are very feminine. Adding a leather jacket to a dress like this modernizes it while still keeping it classy.
My Style Icons ...
Grace Kelly and Faten Hamama, because you will always find them dressed very elegantly yet simply.
I would Describe my personal style as ...
Very feminine, elegant and classy. As soon as I enter a store, I am immediately drawn to the classical pieces. I notice most of today's girls are all about looking sexy in an "your face sort of way", but for me it's always better to keep it classy and old fashioned.

Grungy Floral
Top: Zara
Leggings: Zara
Shoes: Zara
Shades: Tiffany & Co.
Adding a mismatching piece such leather leggings will elevate the look. Minimal to no jewelry gives the stage to the fabric clash between silk and leather.
I love shopping ...
Zara, wherever I go I have to check what Zara has. And when shopping for dresses I like to go to Karen Millen. I also have a thing for British fashion stores such as Top Shop, Oasis, Debenhams and Miss Selfridge.
My Signature Pieces ..
FLOWERS, I have so many floral clothes that whenever any of my friends see a floral piece they say that's what Yasmin would wear.

Oriental Chic
Vest: Nazeeka
Dress: H&M
Shoes: Belgium
Designers in Egypt ...
I love buying from Egyptian designers like Nazeeka, but I always want to see them make unique pieces. If they offer the same designs that I can find in chain stores like Zara and H&M, they usually offer them for more money hence making the chain stores more appealing.
My favorite Colors ...
I love bold colors so much, I even wore some neons last summer. You would never see me wearing something totally monochrome, I have to have my little pop of color.

Classy Breathe
Top: H&M
Bag: Parfois
Pants: H&M
Scarf: H&M
Shoes: Zara (Spain)

Many chain stores such as H&M are recreating the timeless classics from Hermes & Versace, like this scarf.
My Style Inspiration...
Everything Vintage ... I love watching Black & White movies and getting inspired, I flip through my grandmas' pictures and get inspired by her outfits. I always feel like these styles suit my personality.

Taking the Night
Dress: Zara
Clutch Debenhams
Shoes: Zara
This Spring ...
Taking out my mini skirts and mini dresses, going to more bold colors and more floral prints of course.

Coffee & Creme
Skirt: Zara
Boots: Belgium
Cardigan: Mango
Bag: Micheal Kors
My makeup ...
I have a lipstick collection because I am obsessed with strong colors that stand out, mostly reds and pinks. Other than that, I wear makeup mostly on occasions only.
Feminine & Warm
Coat: Italy
Boots: Belgium
Bag: Micheal Kors
My style advice ..
Not to be copies of each other basically. I mean there came a time when everyone was wearing the Long Champ bag and the polo shirt over and over again for example. Also, don't focus on what's high end or what's low end, focus on what suits you and buy it.

That's it for today's Style Profile .. Yasmin has been very helpful and amazingly stylish. xx

Mini Easter Haul

Every year I get some shopping gee pees around Easter for some unknown reason. I sat myself on a budget and went to the store. I am so Happy to say that I didn't exceed my budget. I do have kind of a bad news, my dear phone was stolen and I am back to taking pictures with my Nikon Cool Pix camera. Enough of blabbing already, here is what I got.

L'Oreal Purifying Gel Wash
I am almost done with Neutrogena Deep clean facial wash, which I am reviewing very soon. I found this L'Oreal new gel wash @ 47 EGP. It has sylslic acid in it and I was looking for that in my new wash.

Body Fantasies Raspberry Body Mist
I tried the apple cinnamon mist from Body Fantasies last Christmas and it blew me away. I though Raspberry would be a good option for the spring. I got this @ 78 EGP.

ARDELL Edgy Lashes
I finally have the guts to buy lashes and as you can see I have used them. As soon as I got home, I put them on and they looked amazing. These are Ardell Edgy lashes in 402 Black @ 28 EGP.

ARDELL Eyelash Adhesive
I got this Ardell eyelash adhesive AKA lash glue in dark which is not black it's just a light gray color. This was @ 28 EGP.

Bioderma Sensibo Eye Cream
Since I tried The Body Shop Vitamin E eye cream, I decided that I can try something more medical. I got this Bioderma based on my mom's recommendation @ 100 EGP.

Bourjois Anticernes stick correcteur
I am in the quest of finding the perfect concealer for my blemishes. After looking funny trying most the concealers in the store on my face, I decided to give this Bourjois one a chance. I got it in the shade 73 which is Golden Beige.
Maybelline Color Show nail polishes
I have my black, burgundy and nude as my basic nail colors, but I wanted to shack things a little but for spring. They look identical on camera, but trust me they are not. I got these two shades Coral Crush and Pinkalicious. Each one was @ 28 EGP.
L'Oreal Contour Parfait lip liner
I got this plum lipstick more than a month ago and I needed to find a lip liner for it. I ran into this L'Oreal contour parfait that has the exact same color as my lipstick, I got it in the shade 634 which is named Plum @ 48 EGP.
Victoria's Secret traveling set
My friends know how crazy I am about anything that smells good. They hooked me up with this cute travel set from Victoria's Secret in Pure Seduction which smells heavenly. and it came in this cute little bag.
I am totally going to use it as a makeup bag because it's PINK and also it looks like it can hold a lot of makeup at once. I have no idea how much they are because they were a gift, but I thought I would share it with you since I just got them.

LIPPY Butter London review

Butter London, the amazing company best known for it's nail polishes, also has this line of liquid lip colors. I have had this for a few weeks now and I have been wearing it most of the time. I just put this on my lips, some bb cream and a little winged liner on my eyes and I am good to go. Click here if you wanna check out the product on the butter London site. I thought I would through on a little review for you guys.

The shade I have is "AlCopop" which is this really barbie like bright pink. here is the swatch on my lips.
even though it's not in the sunshine or anything, this is the actual shade.

Pros:
Lippy is  highly pigmented, the color payoff is amazing as you can see. Let's talk about the shade, I have always wanted a pink "out of my comfort zone" lip color and this one is the best one I have. You put it one and it's summer time, the sort of half glossy half matte finish is really nice. I call this the sweet tooth lip color, because it can go through anything. I eat, drink and kiss people and it's still on, I even brush my teeth with it and it's still on. It stays on for I would say 4-5 hours and even when it's gone, with this shade I still have this pink hue to my lips that looks very natural.
 Cons:
It can be a little bit heavy on the lips if it's really cold, it kind of seeps between the cracks of the lips.

Tips:
1) There is no Ugly to this baby, but I feel like it needs a couple of you know tips so it would look great. I always apply lip balm before any gloss or stick, and for Lippy it's a must because as I said before it can be a little bit awkward on dry lips.
2) I found online that some people who tried this shade didn't really love it, I think it's because that they apply too much. Try to apply a very light amount of Lippy AlCopop on your lips and it will be very pigmented and nice, a big amount ends up looking fake and just bad.

I would totally recommend Lippy from Butter London. xx

A girl who knows how to embrace her femininity gracefully has a key for always looking lady like. Today's Style Profile is focused on Afrodite Elseesy. Afrodite is a 25 years old glass artist, who manages to snap stylish bargains anywhere she goes. We decided to create a Style Profile / Spring 2014 lookbook. How to get the feminine stylish look Afrodite pulls off for spring? here is how?
Color Block

Very feminine, I am never attracted to manly pieces. I love accessorizing heavily if I am wearing a simple outfit, I keep my accessories simple for busy outfits. I don't follow trends blindly, if something doesn't fit my body type; I would never wear it.
Boho Chic
Knit Cardigan: Zara
Basic Tank Top: Splash
 Slouchy Pants: India

A boho look is perfect for any friends or family gathering, accessorizing heavily will pull off the slouchy look together. Throw on a light weight cardigan to keep yourself warm.

Even if you are not big on colors, you can take baby steps towards a feminine spring look by wearing floral patterns. A monochromatic floral pattern with a hint of color will make a statement without being out of your colorless comfort zone.
Booties are a great way to transition from winter to spring, you can show off your toned legs without making a full commitment to warmer weather.
Modern Lady
Jacket: H&M
Basic Tank Top: Zara
Black Skinny Jeans: Macy's (Pink Celebrity)
Boots: Mr Joe

My Signature Pieces ..
Florals and Strips for clothes and dainty accessories. If I have to recommend basics for anybody I would say, stick with black and navy skinny jeans because you can dress them up or down with anything.
Elegant Vibes
;
Top: India (Brand named incense)
Skirt: Macy's (Worthington)
Sandals: Nine West
Watch: Guess
An outfit like this can be worn from day to night, it can work for a business meeting or a flirty date. Incorporation of items from different worlds like pencil skirt and chiffon top will always result in a versatile outfit.
